Urban Lifestyle Media (ULM) was founded in 2007 by Jorge Cano-Moreno, who remains the driving force behind the agency today. Cano-Moreno’s career in Latino media began in 1994, when he co-founded Urban Latino Magazine with a $2,000 investment and grew it into a national lifestyle brand grossing over $1.5 million a year within five years. He went on to launch the Urban Sofrito newspaper supplement with El Diario La Prensa and to produce Urban Latino TV, syndicated across the top 25 U.S. markets, before founding ULM as a marketing and PR agency whose early clients included Bacardi, Heineken, Dewar’s, HBO, DreamWorks, and Sprint.
ULM works across three areas. Bookings handles talent representation, public speaker placement, and stage production. Media covers digital and traditional content through our Urban Latino presence and our long-standing partnership with El Diario. Catering brings hospitality to events through Grano de Café and Latin Chef League, the Colombian restaurant and food-truck brands Cano-Moreno began building in 2018.
Cano-Moreno has led marketing campaigns for major Hollywood releases and grassroots efforts for John Leguizamo and Alicia Keys productions, and speaks regularly at institutions including Harvard, Columbia, and Boston College. Creative Director Renzo Devia, a three-time Emmy® Award-winning producer, leads ULM’s production work today.
